Slimming Clubs

Slimming Clubs and Dieting have become a central part of our modern lives especially with holidays like Christmas, Easter, Pancake Day and Halloween tempting us to pile on those pounds. By joining a Slimming Club, you can gain motivation and emotional support from individuals like yourself to help you shed those pounds and lose weight.

Many organisations exist nationally, for example Weight Watchers, Tesco Diets, Scottish Slimmers, Rosemary Conley Slimming and Fitness Clubs and Slimming World. Slimming Clubs like these offer emotional support and an element of counselling in their group sessions to help overcome and difficulties and problems faced week to week in dieting. They also promote healthy weight loss, combined with exercise as the most beneficial way to diet.

Each Slimming Club is different, and offers several different ways to diet. For example Weight Watchers use a points system based on saturated fats and calories, while other clubs use information as a tool in order to help members make sensible choices when buying groceries, and how to plan meals in advance to provide a healthy balanced meal. Other combine eating plans with a routine exercise plan.

However, the most powerful form of help when it comes to dieting is the help and support offered by the Slimming Club leader and the members, as they are all going through and have been through similar situations and they know how hard it is.

Tesco Diets is an online service which you can sign up to and offers a wide and varied range of diets to choose from. For example a low carbohydrate diet, low GI diet, vegetarian diet. They also feature diets to fit in with certain health and diet factors, such as gluten free diets, diabetic, high fibre diets and low salt diets too and more.

Weight Watchers offers a points system for its members and several programmes to choose from. Each member agrees a manageable target weight to reach, and once this has been done, a maintenance period starts in order to stay within this goal weight. When the member has stayed within two pounds of their target weight for the 6 week maintenance, they become a Lifetime member.

The Scottish Slimmers club uses a Positive Eating Plan which enables members to lose weight and stay slim without the usual feeling of deprivation, or isolation that comes with dieting. It allows members to lose weight healthily and sensibly, and understands that every once in a while, you can enjoy the occasional treat, or special meals without the need to feel guilty over having it.

Super Slim Slimming Club is an online feature that offers their members' information based plans on understanding how to diet. There are several diets to choose from depending on what results you want from your diet, for example; fat busting diets, steady weight loss, or lifestyle based diets such as vegetarian diets.

The Slimming Club Slimming World offers members image therapy in order to teach members to really look at themselves and learn to love the way they look and feel good about themselves. It has many foods that are 'free' allowing members to never be hungry, and doesn't 'ban' any type of food. So you will still be able to enjoy all the foods you love, whilst still losing weight on the Slimming World plan.

It is important when dieting to remember that exercise 30 minutes a day will drastically help your weight loss plan rather than leaving it to dieting alone. A 30 minute brisk walk around your neighbour will suffice, and as long as you get your heart rate up, and a light sweat on your forehead, you know you're burning off those calories. A great tip for walking is to move your arms with your legs to help speed up your pace.

However you decide to diet, and whichever Slimming Club you decide to join, you must make sure it is the one that fits with your lifestyle and the one that you will be able to stick to. If there is something about the diet that makes you feel deprived of certain foods that you crave, you will only crave them even more if you are never allowed to have them. Chose the Slimming Club plan that fits with your eating habits most and an exercise routine that you can easily fit into your daily routine.
